Good morning/Afternoon/Evening,
I go by Mere, creator of your current destination, Mere Artistry. Let me just start by saying that I am grateful that you took time out of your day to visit the website today! I'm happy to have the opportunity to build a business of my own and to do things my way. I knew as a kid I would want to continue growing as an artist, illustrator mostly. As time went by and I got older, I lost my way and fell into a deeper depression because reality hit hard that life isn't always about what you want, it's about doing what you have to do. That was exhausting to think about, deeply heartbreaking to accept. It took a couple failures, few big epiphanies to eventually understand what I need to do to achieve where I need to go regardless of how much I wanted to give up. I remember how much I enjoyed accomplishing things and making others happy when I was younger. I hope to get back to that. I hope to get back into loving what I do just to do it. The voices/opinions of others around me began to fade, because in the end we all have different views of happiness. What you put your mind and heart into will always succeed if you put in the correct amount of effort.
My only issue now is I don't want to JUST draw. I want to learn many of the medias in the visual arts. How to shade the trees and capture every color in a painting. How and when to use all sculpting tools correctly to achieve texture and dimension. I found the freedom to explore multiple medias as much as I'd like. There is so much patience required for art, I hope creating Mere Artistry shows the progression of my work and people may want to hang a few pieces in their own home or gift a friend. What a feeling to see your personal artwork in multiple locations, it'd be nice to see.. let's take this journey together!
